Earthly spaces of intense beauty are joined by manifest and ephemeral creative forces, metaphors for the intangible.
Fire, fluid and flight connect the forest, birds, bees, estuaries, cliffs, coast and stars in a celebration of manifest forces ever-present.
These interchanges of energy are represented through the medium of animated film projection, painting and the objects exhibited, rooted in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
The projection of graphic moving images explores the relationship between flight and the Go-Betweens, with drawing and painting sequences of birds in flight, fire, water, earth, sky and glimpses of ‘another space’.
The paintings include the medium of burning surfaces (fire) and the assistance of bees to enhance the organic surface textures.
The knobwood objects symbolize the protection and guardianship of Nature and the Go-betweens. |
