Umyezo
Painters' paradise
Umyezo is also the artists’ residence and inspiration, situated on the banks of the Kwelera River on the East Coast, north-east from East London, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. We do not have well-lit, tarred access roads, night - clubs, etcetera - what we do have is tranquility and silence (except for numerous birds: including the African Fish Eagle, Spur-Wing and Egyptian Geese and the Knysna Loerie). Canoe trips, forest and bush walks also provide inspiration. Beautiful beaches, game farms, restaurants and shops are only ten minutes away.In the near future both international and local artists will present a series of art and environmental educational workshops for both the professional and beginner. For further information contact the artist:
Organics
Mushrooms, fish, chicken, eggs, vegetables, fruit, nuts, herbs and indigenous trees, plants, exotic palms and plants are grown chemical free and experimented with a passion to produce the name 'Umyezo', which not only means 'place of running water', but also 'garden of Eden', the Romantic Paradise...of abundance in a world of shortage....this is a lifetime installation ...
